Midshipman Hyacinth Saint-Claire: *Best. Idea. EVER.*

Unlike Leonardo Dicaprio's character (who dangled off the Titanic's bow as Captain Smith indulgently looked on from the bridge), this middie will probably *not* get away with feeling as free as a mountain bird for too long . . .

Haha, but *if* I had a shot at trying it, I would do it! Did you do the "King of the World" move on one of San Diego's tall ships? ;-)

Well, I went up to the figurehead on Surprise to put a Santa hat and candy cane on Britannia for holiday decorations. There's kind of no room between the back of the figurehead and the bottom of the bowsprit... There's also not much of anything to hold on to. But it was fun. :)

Ooh, next time you should take photos; I'd love to see a figurehead wearing a Santa hat! Sure sounds fun.

It's so nice to dream... I wonder if this actitude doesn't go against the Navy rules... :D

Haha, there's a *slight* chance that reclining on a figurehead goes against some naval protocol . . . ;-)

It's interesting how many people try to 'reenact' that scene for the kicks, luckily, not on ships for the most part. Or atleast not on moving ones. I wonder if figurehead hugging will become popular too now ;D.

*grin* Whether it was a bet lost, whether he just enjoyed doing it, perhaps it was only the only woman on board, but no matter how hard the young midshipman would try... none of those were good excuses for riding the figurehead! *narrative voice* XD

Haha, thanks! Yep, I can't imagine that any excuse can get this midshipman out of trouble . . . I could be wrong, though.

Oh there's an excuse that could work. He thought he saw a man over board, and the figurehead was the best place to look before it was too late!.... ok, not the best excuse but.... The mermaids made him do it!

Oh, sure. Blame the mermaids! Hehe.
