My favorite general, James Wolfe, with a doggy friend. Apparently, he loved dogs. Who doesn't?
Anyway, I am in love with Wolfe's unusual profile (people at the time said his face looked like a triangle on its side). Nice. He was also extremely thin and rather tall (I think a fellow officer observed that Wolfe looked like a walking skeleton). Poor Wolfe was sick most of the time he was in Canada, which probably didn't improve his appearance. At any rate, he certainly made a great subject to draw--when I saw a model in a Land's End catalog wearing a dress that looked like Wolfe's uniform, I *had* to doodle this guy. (I'm not sure if the general would approve that a dress resembled his uniform, but it worked out.)

Yeah, doing caricatures and drawings of him are ridiculously fun; it's like a stickman with oomph. And an oddly-shaped head. Most of mine are based off of the ones by George Townsend. They're so beautiful XD
